Flavourful tarts @ John King since 1965 (halal)

To complete our mission of egg tarts review, one must add this to their list - John King. 

This food chain from Hong Kong & Singapore was brought to Malaysia last year, when Pavillion was open. Since then, their egg tarts gained alot of popularity because of the filling which is very smooth and soft, it literally melts in your mouth! Well, I have to say that it is up to Tong Kee’s standard and even more rich in flavour but less sweet, minus off the signature layered flaky crust. They are different and both are wonderful, but I will prefer Tong Kee which is simply more authentic :p

Besides egg flavour, durian is also recommended, others like egg white, green tea, coffee, chocolate, corn, red beans etc. Do note that their price has been revised & it is now priced around RM1.80 - RM2.20. Currently, they offer 6 for RM9.50 (abt RM1.60 each), no longer buy 6 free 1. They also sell some chinese biscuits, cookies & baked chicken pao.

    A good choice for Malays as this one is lard free. The crust was fluffy and the durian tart is marvelous. A must for durian lover.
