Living in times of one of the highest inflation rates ever, it is definitely eye-catching to see any complete meal still going for RM 2 when on average is RM 4 now. Yes, is definitely true, RM 2, came with some cucumber & parsely & 7 slices of bbq pork or char siew. RM 2 is also available for the black sauce chicken. Siew yoke rice is RM 4. Even ordering others like 1 pig intestines & 1 taufoo was only RM 2.30! The nasi lemak that came with beef curry was only RM 2.60.

Tastewise, the char siew rice was not too bad as the rice was moderately fragrant & it came with some thick char siew sauce too. The pig intestines & taufoo came with gravy similar to bah kut teh & had sufficient herbal taste in it while i liked the nasi lemak’s beef curry which did not taste too indian or malay & was quite thick with the meat not too tough or soft.

Definitely worth a try & have to make it quick as I do not know when the RM 2 promo will end. A sad note though that the prawn mee stall has closed down .

On top of beef burgers and frosty, give baked potatoes and shrimp burger (it is good as it’s rather un-commercialised as lots of bouncy shrimps pieces used) a try. The price is just slightly above McD which is pretty reasonable with the taste of home-made.

P.S. If I have not mistaken about the day (it’s one of the weekday), sorry guys.

1901 Hotdogs, a home grown franchise chain started from a hotdog stand in Sunway Pyramid since 1997. It’s now their turn to have some food promo which has long due to reward their supporters.

Go get a Regular Chicago Beef or Regular New York Chicken sausage at only RM1.99! Looking at RM4.90 (n.p.), it’s about 60% off, a very affordable snack or tea-break.

It is claimed that there are over 70 1901 Hotdogs pushcarts / kiosks / diners around Malaysia, to name a few in some of the major shopping malls in Klang Valley:

Come one, come all! Unfortunatley I am writing this abit late, but there is still 2 days left, today and tomorrow! From the 1 August to 8 August 2008, The Loaf at the Pavilion is having their 2nd Anniversary celebration and everything will be going for 50% off the normal price! For all ice cream lovers and couples out there, come and indulge yourself with their signature dish - house brand ice cream.

Get yourself and your group of friends/colleagues/kaki to visit Swensen for a regular / giant Earthquake and choose EIGHT types of your flavorite flavours, and watch out for the 50% promotion on this item at all outlets (verified with the branch manager) on every Tuesday, all day long…!

Do try their special flavours like butterscotch, banana strawberry and many more. My best advise is be early if you do not want to be disappointed like the Dain Ti Hill @ Pavillion, otherwise you can simply register and wait for your turn. You would definitely not miss it in SS2 at night as there is usually a long queue outside the shop on Tuesdays. Appreciate for the prompt services although they are short of staff.

All of a sudden, we seem to be flooded with unlimited choices of promo food items. This one comes at quite a shock as this place is quite classy. The items on the menu starts from RM 10+ onwards so it does not look really exhorbitant & on top of that, all Citibank credit card members get an additional 50% discount. Environment is superb but I can’t say much about the food as I have not tried it yet.

I also captured the set lunch for Mondays to Fridays at RM 13.00 which comes with soup & free refill of jasmine tea. Sorry for the poor image quality as I am still getting used to this new camera phone (Sony Ericsson K850).

Yet another inflation buster promotion is at IZZI restaurant (Great Italian & Asian Cuisine). Some of you may already be familiar with the 50% discount previously but get this, for a limited time only until 31 August 2008, all Citibank card members will get 65% discount if you spend RM100 and above! Patrons who do not have Citibank credit cards do not fret, you still get 50% discount on your food.

Overall, though not as good as compared to other places like Pizza Italia or Uno Pizza, but is better than the ‘fast food’ restaurants like Dominos, Shakey’s or Pizza Hut and also others like Modesto’s.

For a family of 4 with a great appetite, we almost could not finish the 2 large pizzas, carbonara pasta & dessert with drinks which was only RM50+! The cakes are a must try as it is comparative the hotel cakes.
