Restoran Makanan Laut Kwai Lam @ Kampung Baru Subang

After a very very long absense from this old timer place at Subang New Village, we decided to give this place a try. As far as I can remember, the sweet sour crabs, la la or clams, grilled fish, ‘lum yee’ fried chicken wings, dry fried keow teoy & hokkien mee were the famous items. Similar to before, on a working Monday, it was still crowded at almost 9pm.

We quickly took our picks for 4 people, which were grilled pari fish or ikan pari, 5 fried chicken wings, sour & spicy la la or clams, mantis prawns fried with dried chillies or kung pou lai liu har and cantonese fried yee mee or kung fu mun yee mee. The RM 10 chicken wings came within 5 minutes, was served hot & still asmantis prawn & noodles tasty as ever with the lum yee, but was not as crispy as before maybe because it was fried a shortwhile earlier. The clams were cooked to perfection & very tasty as well while the pari fish was on a banana leave & had lots of kunyit & some curry powder to give it just the right taste. It was cooked just right & lightly burnt to give it a crispy feeling when biting into it. Clams were RM 10 & 2 small pieces of pari fish was only RM 13.

The mantis prawns was also very crispy & tasty though there is quite alot of batter but still good to the last bite. This dish was RM 11. To top it all of, the cantonese fried yee mee was ordered as a form of carbohydrates & I must say, it is absolutely worth every single sen as it was only RM 7 for 4 persons! Among all the places in lala or clamsPetaling Jaya or Kuala Lumpur that I have tried, I do not think 4 persons can eat chinese seafood for RM 50+ anywhere else with the sufficient amount!
