The eats & dont’s @ Pavilion Food Republic

1 April 2008

Pavilion Food Republic is the latest food court in Kuala Lumpur. Food Republic and some of its stalls actually originated from Singapore. However, due to popular believe that Singapore food do not taste good, this outlet seems to have proven otherwise in terms of food court standards.

It boasts of a very big upmarket looking area with many stalls. The eats & dont’s will be updated when more stalls are reviewed. Thus, here are the eats of Food Republic:
Thye Hong - Fried Carrot Cake Rm6.50, Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodles, Fried Oyster and Fried Kuey Teow RM 6.50 (must try & 1 of the cheapest too!)
Hot plate food - Four Anchor Beans and chicken mushroom rice, green chilli is nice too!
- Orange chicken rice RM 8.50 including 1 egg
Toastboax - Yin Yong Cold RM 3.10
Stall selling drinks - Smoothie
John King - the variety of tarts are ok especially durian flavours which is rich and full in body a lthough it is abit too runny.

Thye Hong scores an additional point in creativity as the staff wear straw hats and serve the fried kuey teow in a leave.

Stall selling tai chow in a little kuali - expensive & not much ingredients as well as not tasty
Pan Mee - pretty small serving though lots of chicken bits, otherwise rather lacking in taste RM 6.90
Sam Sam - Korean spicy noodle RM 7. Is not much different from instant noodles only it has slight kimchi flavour with more spongy noodles compared to Maggi mee. Very little vegetables and small side dish of anchovies & kimchi.
Penang prawn mee - lousy
