(Ori) yummy Sakae Sushi @ The Curve (pityful)

dsc01053.JPG9 December 2007 & 27 Feb 2008

Finally, back to the origins of Sakae Sushi where it all started at The Curve. Christmas mood setting in with the enchanting Christmas decorations with a cosy christmas house in the concourse. Was a simple meal and that’s what Sakae does best.

Ordered yummy crispy fried maki (RM1.90 per plate), soft shell crab temaki (RM 3.90), tantalizing spicy salmon sushi  (RM1.90), crispy salmon skin temaki (RM1.90).  Fried maki seems to have shrinked abit in size and the spicy salmon sushi seems to have become minced salmon & tastes differ abit (before was in small cubes & darker red) while salmon skin remains almost the same, only cut upshrunk fried maki, no more stuffs within the rice into too small pieces unlike genki sushi where is bigger pieces. Originaly, this favourite fried maki was stuffed with shredded salmon, roes and fine cucumber strips which make it so flavourful & juicy inside and crispy from outside. Apparently, it is purely a plain tempura maki, even the vinegar taste can be barely tasted.

Just a small additional note, the soft shell crab was also given a try at RM7.90 & this did not really changed much since soft shell crab is already small, I do not think it can go any smaller & the same 2 pieces were given. In future, hope they do not give us a few soft shell crab body parts though, ha!

Probably now the food mission in Malaysia is to find a place which has not changed a soft shell crabsingle bit (slight increase acceptable maybe).
