Metropark Kowloon Hotel @ Hong Kong

After Macau on 19 & major part of 20 February, the planned itinerary was to stay in 2 parts of Hong Kong, ie, Hong Kong island central & Hong Kong mainland. It was the initial perception that between Metropark Kowloon & Rosedale on the Park, Metropark was the lesser of the 2 since I had the impression that the MTR was far & attractions not easily reachable unless with the shuttle bus service. However, how wrong I was!

Metropark apparently was a more lobbyaffordable hotel in Hong Kong where many 3 stars hotel were going for above RM300.  Using www.pyotravel.com, I managed to get at a good bargain of RM 522 for 2 nights.

Service in this hotel was out of this world as the moment I reached the entrance, my bags were quickly taken away & ushered to the lift to go to the 1st floor to check-in. Another wow factor was during check-in, as they mentioned the higher floors was only left with twin bed rooms, they agreed to merge the beds. Like someone from the village, I asked them when would it be done, they said immediate & sure enough, by the time I reached the room, the beds were already merged & within 5 minutes, our luggage arrived!

The rooms are reasonably big & seems to be recently renovated though the reception may look abit old.  The only downside would be the absense of heater in the room. From observation, the breakfast buffet spread seems to have many varieties of food. Some of the room features as follows:

  • Bathroom with shower area
  • Electronic safety deposit box
  • Free broadband Internet access
  • Mini bar, Refrigerator
  • Tea/coffee facilities & drinking water as well as flask of room temperature water
  • LCD TV with cable channels
  • Size: Approximately 23-26 square meter

The shuttle bus was very convenient, frequent, efficient & punctual as I noticed there is 2 buses provided between the hotel, Mongkok & Tsim Sha Tsui & the stops are right where all the action is at those 2 places. From the Tsim Sha Tsui stop, the entrance to the MTR is just next road. The solo driver even helps guests with their luggage.
