Food Foundry @ Section 17, PJ (At last!)

1 February 2008

Chicken cordon bleuI have always been extremely curious why many bloggers and friends have been saying that Food Foundry at Section 17 is tasty & value for money. Thus, on this KL public holiday, I decided to give it a quick try. I would not say is extroadinarily great, but is just average. French Fries (RM5) was overfried and some of it were crispy but hollow inside, too dry.  Also tried the Chicken Cordon Bleu (RM14.90) and Gratin Mussels (RM8.90). Cordon Bleu had the usual ingredients of bits of cheddar cheese & a slice of ham in it with its crispy outer shell but was not really tasty, however, I did enjoy the lightly cheesed & grilled mussels with its tasty bread though.

I would have preferred the same chicken cordon bleu at Secret Recipe. The environment is not bad though given its gratin musselssurrounding which is below a block of old flats (Happy Mansion) in section 17.

Probably in future, I might give the mile crepe (RM9)  a try since it is supposed to be the signature dish. Thus, in summary, I would probably say is better than 9 to 5 Grill & nasi lemak which is just around the corner with coffee shop style but similar or even pricier pricing.
