After awhile of not visiting Brotzeit & feeling something is missing, we are back here for some delicious pork food. For this visit, there has been some changes in the lunch specials which previously were something like:

  • Mixed Sausage platter - selection of 3 signature sausages with pretzel bread roll, salad & mashed potatoes - RM 14.50

The most current menu is as follows:

All sets come with a cup of ice lemon tea with the exception of the Bavarian breakfast.
In addition, simply add RM 6 for soup of the day with free dessert which on the day I had the set it was creamy broccoli soup served with multigrain bread. During previous visits I have also tried pumpkin soup & potato soup. The reason why I just can’t get enough of Brotzeit is that it serves quality food even including the soups & bread which is very rich of ingredients & cooked from scratch, not those that you know it maybe from some canned soup. One can also request for more bread if not enough.

During the most recent visit, I tried the meat & sausage skewer which was as nice as ever, with the sausages slightly crispy on the outside & the pork medallions cooked just right & juicy with the meat not being too tough. They even allowed me to switch from fries to the creamy mash with crispy onions since I recently ate alot of fries.

For previous visits, I also tried the mixed sausage platter & bacon & meatloaf platter which was good too with lots of porky goodness in it. The sausages used were very tasty & seemed similar to the gourmet type while the meatloaf texture was like between luncheon meat & ham. As being a bacon lover, definitely not enough of it which was slightly crispy at the edges & chewy in the middle. The vegetables were fresh too unlike many places where the leaves can be seen turning brown while the sauerkraut was sufficiently sour & just the right texture, for this, I am unable to tell if is from the can :P

Finally, as for the dessert, though on all 3 visits it was a pudding, similar to Bobalicious, meatloaf & baconbut it was 3 different flavours, ie. strawberry, lemon & chocolate, & was basic but acceptable.
